Quality sinks Highfield

Division One championship took another twist with La Liga reclaiming top spot after thrashing Flame Lily 4-1 at Hellenics.
Highfield wasted a glut of chances and were duly punished in the 77th minute when Mwana Africa’s Quality Kangadza scored to break the hearts of the hosts.
Coach Mike “Mickey Dread” Madzivanyika’s charges could have won the match easily but his youthful side wasted a lot of chances with Protasho Kabwe the chief culprit.
Highfield manager technical manager Wilson Mutekede blamed the lost chances for the defeat.
The miners completed a double over Highfield United after they won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at Trojan.
And coach Peter Sakonda believes the maximum points they picked on the road breathed life into their campaign to win the league title.
“We were playing one of the title contenders but we desperately needed the points since we were fifth. And we believe the remaining games would be easier for us and really needed to win today. We are still in the race, we were going through a bad spell and it is very normal in football and we were conceding soft goals,” said Sakonda.
