Raiders in perfect start

The defending champions dominated proceedings from the first whistle and showed they had what it takes to be crowned champions again.
Raiders coach Vulindlela Moyo expressed satisfaction with his charges display and said what            the team did was just a warning shot.
“I am happy with the wins and our opponents should just read the wins as warning shots of what we have for them this season,” he said.
MSU women also announced their intentions in the league with a hard fought 3-2 win over Highlanders although rain disturbed proceedings and there had to be stoppages which lasted for up to two hours as the rains pounded Bulawayo.

Bosso player, Brenda Mundiya said her team was not disappointed by the loss to MSU since the game was their first league game and rain had made playing difficult.
“This was our first game so losing is not such a big deal besides rain made play difficult since the court and the ball got slippery,” she said.
The players from MSU continued their fine run with a convincing 3-1 victory over Bulawayo Polytechnic.
In the men’s games Railstars beat Highlanders 3-0 in a one-sided match that the defending champions dominated from the first whistle.

The champions continued with their fine run when they brushed aside Gweru side Cats 3-1 to make it a second loss for the Gweru side to Railstars after they got knocked out in the pre-season tournament semi-finals last month.
The MSU boys who were defeated 3-0 by Railstars in the pre-season tournament final after showing a lot of promise lived up to expectations as they  mauled both The Great Churchill and Cats 3-0 each.

Izihlobo made amends for their dismal run in the pre-season tournament as they beat Bulawayo Polytechnic 3-0.
Unit Fairbridge added to the woes of Luveve Academy as the school boys joined their girls on the losing side when they were walloped 3-0 and their problems were further compounded by Bosso who beat them 3-2.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo will play host to the Zimbabwe Open Tournament this weekend at a venue yet to be decided.
