This was Entumbane’s first loss of the season and they are now third with 15 points behind log leaders Kings and Exchange.
Exchange who went into the weekend game sitting on third place are now tied on 15 points with Entumbane and have a superior frame difference.
The 2011 Carling Black Label champion Wisdom Mkhize and Alexander Uzambe led their team to victory against a hapless Entumbane.
“We were not at our usual best and lost to a better team. We are going back to the drawing board to work on our shortcomings. We are not giving up as there are a number of games remaining and the championship race is still wide open,” said Kenny Nyandoro of Entumbane.
Championship favourites, Kings’ fine run continued as they laboured to a 7-6 win against winless Gold and Black who were banking on Nelson Ncube and former national team player Emmanuel Rwizi.
Kings’ skipper Paul “Macheso” Mutizo who had predicted a landslide victory against Gold and Black who are second from the bottom with zero points, Geshom Nash,
Muziwethu Ndlovu and Anyway Shanduke led the log leaders’ attack.
It was a case of so near yet so far as log anchors Paparazzi just like Gold and Black lost 7-6 to visiting Raylton.
In a police affair Drill Hall lost 6-7 to Western Commonage.
