BULAWAYO Provincial Netball league giants Railstars bounced back to winning ways after edging Free Stars and Zimpost in a double encounter at Raylton over the weekend. Railstars thumped Free Stars 37- 21 and made light work of Zimpost to win 52 -10 in the second match. The railway girls were coming from a shock defeat in their last encounter against Ntuthu Sparrows where they lost in the last segment by a point.
Railstars coach Judith Mwemba praised the way her team managed to bounce back from defeat.
“I’m proud of the girls, they managed to handle the last minute disappointing defeat in the last game very well and they managed to bounce back with a good win,” said Mwemba. She said the young Free Stars and Zimpost players gave them a good run for their money.
“Both teams had youngsters full of energy and they made it tougher for us, but experience worked for us at the end of the day,” she said.
Railstars seek to use the back to back victory as a stepping stone to challenge for the championship.
“We want to use these wins as a morale booster and continue with our winning ways so we can challenge for the championship,” said Mwemba.
Meanwhile, championship favourites Ntuthu Sparrows are now back on top of the log standings after thrashing TelOne 107-4, and Lobengula Queens 42-21.
Mighty Queens dropped one place down the ladder despite a 63-2 win over Old Nic.
