Rain disrupts Zim, Bangladesh play

Bangladesh A opener Shahriar Nafees squeezed in a half-century on a rain-affected first day against Zimbabwe A in Fatullah. After 21.2 overs in the afternoon session, the players were taken off due to bad light and play was called off an hour later due to more rain. Once the game eventually began at 1.30PM, Nafees and Shadman Islam made slow progress to move to 24 after 10 overs. Zimbabwe A were erratic in their discipline, bowling several no-balls, and the openers cashed in. Nafees struck nine fours and a six during his unbeaten 58, while Shadman made 18 off 62 balls with three fours.

The visitors decided to field at 11.00AM, but had to wait another two-and-a-half hours for play to begin because there was rain soon after the toss. The delayed start to the game, pushed back by a day, was due to the inclement weather across the country.
