Rainfall activity to increase

This follows a decline in rainfall which was experienced between Monday and yesterday.

Senior Met officer, Mr Jonathan Chifuna, said a bias of heavier falls was expected from December 8 to December 14 over the Mashonaland region.
“As we are occasionally having very high temperatures, the public is advised that some of the storms may be accompanied by high winds, lightning or thunderstorms and hail,” he said.

Significant rains were recorded over the weekend with Harare receiving 66mm, Mukandi 64mm, Logan Park 53mm and Chipinge 29mm on Sunday.
Some farmers took advantage of the decline in rainfall to finish planting, while others took the opportunity to weed early planted summer crops.
