Rare treat in Mabvuku

No.1 Ground for the annual Mabvuku/Tafara Youth Sports Festival.
Terrence Masiya, one of the event’s organisers, said yesterday that this is an annual sporting event, which is co-ordinated by individuals within the community of Mabvuku and Tafara.
“Residents of both Mabvuku and Tafara would like to see the youths being positively occupied while at the same time nurturing their talent so that they will be able to make a living through sport,” Masiya said.

The main event of the day today is the Under-16 soccer competition which is going to be contested by four clubs, namely Mabvuku Academy for Sport, Islamic Centre Pirates, CAP and Youth Willing Academy.

These four teams sailed through to the semi-finals after competing in a 16-team tournament held in Arcturus last month.
The favourites to win in the finals are Mabvuku Academy for Sport as they performed exceptionally well during the first stages of the competition in Arcturus.
The festival is scheduled to start at 9am today.
