South Africa-based Zimbabwean musician Blessing Makiwa Matongo aka Ras Bledz has released a video for his song “Africa Never Give Up”.The single is a collaboration between Ras Bledz and other African artistes from Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa and the group is called Africa All Stars.
The video has a message that is life-changing to anyone who watches it.
Not only is the message powerful but it is accompanied by an original reggae beat and spiced up with high definition quality clips that are so appealing.
The song which is in different languages including Shona, English, Lingala and French was inspired by the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa. In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Ras Bledz said he met the other African artistes in South Africa when he interacted with people of various backgrounds.
“As the owner of FB Madiro Records I always move around asking people from different nationalities about their backgrounds and how are they doing in South Africa and that is how I met with my fellow African artistes on the single.
“I invited them and we discussed African issues affecting Africans and came up with this song encouraging each other to work hard, love each and not to fight against each other,” he said.
A fitter and turner by profession, Ras Bledz said he is due to release his debut album together with a DVD later this year.
“Because of my profession, time is not always on my side since I have to mix these two but I am currently working on the album and on some tracks will be featuring some of the artistes from different African countries,” he said. He also added that as a way of tackling issues that affect Africans, he will continue composing songs based on topical matters in the continent.
“I am also planning on holding shows in Zimbabwe and other African countries before going across the globe preaching peace among Africans.
