ZIMDANCEHALL chanter, Nyasha Reginald Mano popularly known as Ras Pompy has been sucked in an attempted murder case for allegedly dating his friend’s mother.
Ras Pompy’s friend landed himself in the dock for stabbing his uncle during an altercation over the alleged affair.
The friend, Wesley Eroyi Shoniwa of Mbare allegedly stabbed his uncle, who confronted him for harassing his mother.
Shoniwa appeared before magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa facing attempted murder charges.
He was remanded in custody to tomorrow for bail considerations.
Upon being asked whether he had understood the allegations, Shoniwa said he had not because that is not what had happened.
Magistrate Gofa asked him to give his version of events.
“We are here because my mother is sleeping with Ras Pompy, how can she sleep with someone of my age when she can easily find someone her age to sleep with.
“Everyone in the (neighbour)hood has been laughing at me over this issue because her boyfriend is my friend and is way younger than my mother so when my uncle asked me about it taking her side, I was infuriated and stabbed him,” he said.
According to the State, on Monday, Shoniwa stabbed his uncle, who is his mother’s brother with a knife on his shoulder.
This was during an attempt by the uncle to censor Shoniwa for threatening and verbally assaulting his mother.
