Rashford relegated

LONDON. — Manchester United wonderkid Marcus Rashford is set to be demoted to the England Under-21s by manager Sam Allardyce. The 18-year-old striker has not featured in the English Premier League so far this season, despite a superb breakthrough in the Red Devils’ first-team last term.

Rashford’s form for United in the second half of 2015/16 saw him called up to England’s squad for Euro 2016, and he shone as one of the most impressive performers despite a limp defeat to Iceland in the first knockout stage.

Still, new England boss Allardyce believes that if he is not currently playing regularly for his club, then he could benefit from a spell in the Under-21s to build up some experience.

“Rashford is not playing now so it makes it harder for me to select him, as exciting as he was last year and how he burst on the scene,” Allardyce said. — Metro.
