Raza top scores in Nepal T20

ZIMBABWEAN all-rounder, Sikandar Raza top scored with a quick-fire 38 runs for Biratnagar Super Kings with his effort, however, in vain as they lost by five wickets to Janakpur Royals in a Nepal T20 cricket match played at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

Raza, coming in to bat at number four, hammered two fours and four sixes on his way to notching up 38 off 16 deliveries. His effort took Biratnagar Super Kings to 140 all out in 19.5 overs.

Janakpur Royals successfully chased down the target, finishing on 141/5 in 20 overs to win with no balls to spare. Jamaican wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton was the highest run contributor for the Royals with an unbeaten 69 runs off 55 balls.

Raza opened the bowling and his four overs cost 33 runs at an economy rate of 8.25 runs per over with no wickets taken.

It was the second defeat in as many matches for the Andre McCarthy captained Super Kings in the Nepal T20 after they lost their opening fixture by three runs to Lumbini All Stars on Christmas Day, on a day Raza was dismissed for 17 having picked up one wicket for 23 runs in four overs.

The loss to the Royals left the Super Kings rooted to second from bottom with zero points, the same as log anchors Pokhara Avengers.

Next up for Raza and his teammates is a bottom of the log clash with the Avengers in Kirtipur today.
