The beneficiaries will be selected through a series of open trials.
“I am very happy to commit my Foundation work to support the development of youth players in Zimbabwe. We brought Real Betis to Zimbabwe to develop our football, the next step is to go and get every outstanding youth footballer and enroll him into Betis, as we go into our outreach programme the foundation will also support the less privileged players.

“I served as a sports person in International Rugby, now I look forward to serve my country in supporting the outstanding athletes through my Foundation. This is the reason why Real Betis is here, to help the people of Zimbabwe and our region in Africa through football,” said Sibanda.

The academy, which was launched in 2020, has been conducting training camps in Harare where former players, Murape Murape, Tichaona Diya and Phillemon Mutyakureva have been in charge.
Johannes Ngodzo and Gift Lunga (junior) are in charge of proceedings in Bulawayo. With the support of its international business development department, Real Betis are pursuing a global education project through football.

Its objective is not just to develop new playing talent but to also provide access to good education and fight against marginalization and social exclusion in different parts of the world.
Already, more than 1 000 boys and girls outside of Spain have had the chance to train under the club’s methodology. At the same time, by arriving in new countries and setting up such projects, the club is in a better position to develop commercial activities in these markets and expand its brand. — @innocentskizoe
