Real life ‘Snakes on a Plane’ as python hitches ride on jet

flying from Cairns to Port Moseby yesterday.
Fortunately for passengers, the snake posed no real danger to anyone inside the aircraft — unlike 2006 thriller Snakes on a Plane starring Samuel L Jackson as an FBI agent.

The snake sadly died because of the freezing temperatures and high speed of the aircraft.
A crew member said there was a lot of commotion on the ground after the plane landed in Port Moresby.

He said: “The python didn’t quite make it out alive, especially with some flap extension for landing.”
Qantas yesterday said hitch-hiking pythons were not an everyday occurrence.
A spokesperson said: “We have never heard of this happening before.” — The Sun.
