It is true when they say the life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume with what he vowed to make. The diary will really try and tell people who you are and what you were.Checking on latest trends that have taken the world by storm, teen celebrities like Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, Alex Perry and One Direction boy band, they all have one thing in common — a diary.
Gone are the days the diary-notebook used to be a girl thing, guys too have joined the band wagon, owning a diary. Yours truly now has one courtesy of “Dream Big” company.
Yes it is a choice, but don’t be left out not owning one.
According to a Dream Big project official, the designer diaries were printed in China.
“These are quality diaries that are designed to suit any activity. I must say they are a must,” he said.
The official further highlighted that the diaries have been endorsed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the project is growing by day.
Dream Big project has also partnered with Cool Lifestyle and the 52 weeks themed diary will also be part of Cool Swag Centre under the 2014 schools tour.
Asked how they came up with the concept, the official said: “A diary is like a life planner. We saw it vital that children start planning now about their chosen careers especially now as this should not be washed away like sand at the beach,”
The official said the diary project comes in time with the New Year as this is where it all begins.
“Parents play an important role in the career decision making process. The Dream Big Diary enables them to explore, with their children, many different types of jobs, industries, trades and working lifestyles. Our main aim is to give you inspiration and spark some ideas,” said the official. Teenagers struggle to make decisions without sufficient information. The diary also carries some career paths.
“It exposes teenagers to over 150 careers. With unemployment so high in our country the biggest group of people affected by unemployment are the teenagers and university or college students.
“If unemployment rate is 90 percent, this means nine out of every 10 students will struggle to get a job. This means you must think beyond the immediate future. Your current decision could potentially open or close doors to future options. The majority of teens make decisions without enough information,” explained one of the organisers.
Miss Teen Zimbabwe 2012 Soraya Vallabh said the diary serves a great purpose in her life.
“I started having a diary at a tender age and used to write anything there, you know us girls. I do recommend teenagers to get one from Dream Big Company because it is just more than a diary. In fact I can say it is a career diary. From the day I got one I now have a clear picture what my future holds,” she said.
Well, begin 2014 with a difference.
Bring it on guys.
Good luck and continue Dreaming Big!
