Preparations are at an advanced stage for the “Red Cup and Lollipop” party scheduled to take place at 1+1 Club at LongCheng Plaza next weekend.

The “Red Cup” which is now famous with most hip-hop musician both locally and internationally has gone trendy in most clubs.

The party is being hosted by Black Spider Entertainment in a bid to unite musicians and fans in a trendy way.

Event organiser Trevor Makaza who is also a disc jockey said preparations are at advanced stage with a line up of activities in place.

“The ‘Red Cup’ affair is the in-thing in town as most people especially musicians and fans are always seen moving around holding red cups of various beverages. We are hosting the event on May 1, which is a holiday as most people would be free to enjoy the red cup affair,” he said.

Makaza, affectionately known as Zyan, said performing artistes have already confirmed.

“The line up includes Game Recognise Game duo Ash Styles and Nivek (StarFm), DJ Eve (ZiFm), and The Dude with musicians such as MC Chita and MC Lenny Matterhorn.

Red Cups will be given for free on the entrance with first 50 ladies getting wine bottles,” he said.

He said they are working on inviting a regional surprise guest musician.

“We have many on our list of which most of them are from South Africa but with the current situation happening on xenophobia, we don’t want this to affect the musicians business but rather help them promote the ‘No to Xenophobia’ campaign.

“I think by next week we will have confirmation on who is coming,” he said.

Zyan said the party is themed and patrons are expected to follow ground rules.

“Just like any party, we have our own way of doing it and we expect patrons to follow ground rules. It’s a club so everyone knows the scenario and how to look elegant and classy for the night,” he said.

Black Spider Entertainment has continued to scale for greater heights as they host parties around the country.
