REDDY BREAK

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE aims to claw back £100million from the sales of surplus Manchester United stars.

At least EIGHT senior players will leave at the end of the season.

Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford are poised to be sold. Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia will also depart as free agents, freeing up cash to reinvest in the squad. United are eyeing £64m from the loan moves of Rashford and Hojlund to Barcelona and Napoli being made permanent. Yet they still need at least £19m for keeper Onana to sidestep a Profit and Sustainability blow.

The Red Devils are likely to take a loss on £50.8m Ugarte and £36.5m Zirkzee.

But getting £350,000-a-week Casemiro off the wage bill will help. United’s clearout comes amid their strong interest in England star Elliot Anderson. The Nottingham Forest midfielder is already rated at £100m by his club.

However, a good showing at this summer’s World Cup could see his stock rise even further.

Rivals Man City are plotting a move as they prepare to lose Bernardo Silva.

They are currently in pole position to sign Anderson.

But both Manchester clubs want to strike quickly to avoid more parties joining the fray.
