LONDON . – Ex-Premier League ref David Coote has been charged with making a category A indecent video of a child.
The official was sacked by refereeing chiefs the PGMOL in December after an online tirade against former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Coote, 43, from Newark, is accused of making one indecent video of a child on January 2 2020.
He will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today in the first hearing related to the charge.
A category A charge relates to the most severe classification of indecent images or video depicting penetrative sexual activity.
Coote was sacked as a referee after he was seen in leaked footage last November referring to Liverpool as “s***”.
He said: “Aside from having a right pop at me when I was refereeing them against Burnley in lockdown, he accused me of lying and then had a right f*****g pop of me.
“So I do my best not to speak to him. James Milner is all right, I get on with him.
Coote officiated his first Premier League match in April 2018. − The Sun
