REFEREE Trinity Dirwai ran the show with a series of dreadful calls in a four-goal thriller which saw MWOS and TelOne leaving with a point apiece at Ngoni on Saturday.

Neutral observers felt Dirwa failed to manage the game.

MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa also responded in parables during the post-match interview.

When asked about Dirwai’s performance, which saw many questioning his capacity to officiate in the Castle Lager Premiership, he responded with the Serenity Prayer.

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference,” said Mutasa.

The visitors had a blistering start, which saw Eria Mafiranyika fire them ahead in the 11th minute.

They bullied the hosts for the better part of the first half and Milton Chimedza doubled their lead just three minutes after the break.

Dirwai became a different beast after Innocent Zambezi reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute.

He awarded the visitors a questionable penalty with video replays showing that Tinotenda Mutyambizi had cleanly won the tackle against Washington Navaya.

There were also questions as to whether the foul was inside the box.

Dirwai then sent Allan Chapindika for an early shower in a challenge that some felt was not a bookable offence.

He also flashed another red card to Kudakwashe Nyakudanga in the same minute, reducing the visitors to nine men.

Billy Veremu had the last say with a strike that extended their unbeaten run to 11 games.

It was hard to tell if Dirwai was fighting for one of the sides and the conclusion was that he just looked completely out of control.

TelOne coach Herbert Maruwa declined to comment on Dirwai’s horror show.

“We did very well by scoring the first goal and getting the second goal after the break, but there was a moment of madness from the boys after Navaya’s penalty miss,” said Maruwa.

“They failed to control themselves, lost patience, but I’m happy they managed to get us a crucial point.

“I cannot comment on things I don’t have control over, the referee was better positioned to make every decision he made.”
