“I shall not die, but live to proclaim the goodness (works) of the Lord in the land of the living,” reads Psalms 118:17.
This is a declaration that was made by David.
At one point, David was being pursued by Saul, who sought to kill him.
Bears and lions would attack him in the forest while shepherding his father’s flock.
I would like to believe he also felt hungry and lonely while in the pastures.
All these situations failed to bring about the death of David, hence the declaration “l will not die!”
You remain immortal until your assignment is complete.
I will not die but live to proclaim the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
David, your assignment is on the throne, so, as long as you are not yet enthroned, why should you die?
Death is the end of the life of a person or organism; departing from this earth.
By revelation, death can mean departing from a certain place, be it a job, residential area, position, school, country or city.
Saul, I wish you really knew who David was; l wish God had given you the same revelation He had given to your son Jonathan.
David cannot die anytime soon.
You must refuse to be a candidate of “untimely death”.
Refuse to die before raising your children, refuse to die before enjoying and testifying God’s goodness in the land of the living, and refuse to die before your vision is fulfilled.
Refuse to die before reaching your “Canaan”.
Before reaching your intended destination, refuse to die.
You cannot die in transit before reaching the other side.
Jesus, in Luke 8:22, said to His disciples, “Let us go to the other side.”
Along the way, a furious storm came up on the lake . . . but Jesus was sleeping.
May God give you the grace to sleep in the midst of the storm.
Despite the storm, they arrived; the boisterous wind could not kill them.
Do not allow any type of storm to kill you before you reach your intended destination.
When David declared “l will not die”, it is not that he would never die.
He knew he would, but never wanted to die at the hands of his enemies.
We will not be defeated by our problems, but we will survive, conquer and declare the works of the Lord.
Never give up when you face any difficulties.
Ask God for His guidance and grab His promises because He is able to turn your sorrow into a blessing.
Instead of living in pain and fear, take your prayer life to another level.
Joel Osteen said, “When you know who you are talking to, you will not pray weak prayers. You will pray bold prayers. You will ask for things that other people think are far out, too much, that could never happen. Bold prayers get bold results.”
It is time to rise and speak boldly to that situation.
Refuse to die spiritually, emotionally and physically until your assignment is complete.
A prayer of faith provides much.
