VALERIA Bhunu, Zimbabwe’s gold medal hopeful, had to settle for Silver after she lost to Poluta Kate in the AUSC Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games girls’ tennis final at Bulawayo Athletics Club today.
Bhunu began well to win the first set 4-6. Kate found her mojo to silence the crowd favourite 6-2, 6-4 in the second and third set.
Bhunu looked as stunned as everyone else when lost the match she could have easily won.
Ronzai Saurombe beat Kukulta Motlojoa of Lesotho to win Bronze. Francois Kellerman of South Africa beat Chisomo Lumeta of Malawi.
