FORMER Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Chicken Inn are on Saturday set to take on former Cup Kings, CAPS United at Bulawayo’s Luveve Stadium.
Staring relegation, both clubs will be hard-pressed to win.
Chicken Inn, who edged Triangle United 1-0 in their last match away from home, are in position 11, tied on 36 points with Bikita Minerals.
“This is a must-win for us, we did well in our last encounter and we should continue doing like that. It’s a small number of games to go, but a big job remains to be done,” said Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas.
CAPS United are ninth on the log with 38 points, ahead of Bikita Minerals, who are also still not yet safe from the dreaded chop.
“It’s clear, a number of clubs are not yet clear from relegation. With three games to play, it’s still a big fight from all of us,” said Antipas.
In other Week 32 fixtures, without the services of their midfield dynamo, Mason Mushore, and defender Brian Mlotshwa, Bosso will travel to Shamva, where they are scheduled to face defending champions Simba Bhora at Wadzanayi Stadium
Mlotshwa and Mushore are among the eight players who will not be eligible to play for their respective clubs this weekend.
Also suspended are Innocent Zambezi (MWOS), David Ndlovu (FC Platinum), Shelton Sibanda (Kwekwe United), Takunda Benhura (Ngezi Platinum Stars) and Charles Teguru (Manica Diamonds).
Meanwhile, midfielders Mushore and Benhura have reportedly completed moves to South Africa’s Betway Premiership outfit AmaZulu.
Mushore is expected to join Usuthu in January, with contractual terms between the club and the player said to be fully agreed.
For weeks, Mushore and Benhura have been linked with AmaZulu.
Sources within AmaZulu indicated that they are confident the two young players, who, despite interest from several other clubs in South Africa, Europe and Zimbabwe, have settled for Usuthu, will do well.
If both players move to AmaZulu, they will join fellow countryman Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who moved to the club in July.
Ngwenya, a former FC Platinum attacking midfielder, has settled in well at Usuthu, becoming their top striker early in the 2025/26 season, with four league goals in eight matches.
