Chegutu Pirates 2-1 Chicken Inn
CHEGUTU Pirates continued their winning streak as they recorded a third consecutive win following another impressive 2-1 win over Chicken Inn in a PSL duel at Baobab yesterday.
Pirates announced their intention with an early goal blasted by Lewis Milanzi before Mpumelelo Bhebhe restored parity.
Chicken Inn’s joy was shortlived as veteran Pirates striker Raphael Manuvire’s shot in a goalmouth melee, at the stroke of the first-half, nestled into the roof of the net to seal the match as a contest.
Pirates’ victory over Chicken Inn follows similar wins against Bikita Minerals and Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Elated Pirates coach Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe ran short of superlatives of his charges.
“I’m quite happy with my boys’ performance. It’s unbelievable. I think God has a plan for this team.”
Jongwe believes Pirates still stand a chance to evade relegation.
“As long as we are not mathematically relegated we remain in the competition.”
Jongwe’s Chicken Inn counterpart, Joe Antipas, admitted that they succumbed to early pressure.
“We started very slow and Pirates put us under pressure using their wingers, we were too slow to react and they scored an early goal and basic errors cost us,” said Antipas who also blamed an ineffective strikeforce for the loss.
Relegation still looks a possibility for Pirates as they are second from the bottom.
