ZIMBABWEAN women have a Christian platform to curb social ills that have birthed destitute children, Archbishop Dr Eunor Guti has said.
Archbishop Guti of Zaoga Forward in Faith is the visionary of the eight-year-old Today’s Woman Interdenominational initiative that is meant to mold women spiritually, physically and economically.
Through the initiative that is anchored on a Christian foundation, women from different backgrounds receive relevant training on different frontiers.
This year’s edititon, which saw women gathering for the three day Today’s Woman Interdenominational conference, ran from October 22-24.

Speaking at the pre-conference dinner last Wednesday, Archbishop Guti said although the objectives of the initiative are being realised significantly, her heart bleeds for children who have abandoned their parents.
“Today many nations are crying because of their children who have turned into drugs and alcohol, where they leave home and move in groups wondering and parents not knowing where their children are.
“It’s painful and many parents are developing high blood pressure. We as the women of Zimbabwe still have a chance to prevent and correct that and it needs a Christian platform.
“My heart bleeds for my fellow women. To think that as a mother you would have struggled to educate your child and today they turn to call you the “devil”! Archbishop Guti lambasted.
She also spoke on the need to be innovative economically.
“I see a lot of women have gone ahead in their different churches. They are doing businesses, they are no-longer women who have stayed at home. They are now alert people even though it has not gotten to the point we really desire.
“We are now managing to bring together all the churches, there is no more suspicion that people are being stolen. They are coming in their numbers, including young women who are coming in their numbers.”

Archbishop Guti said Zaoga FIF was only a facilitator in the initiative whose burdens have been carried by women of different denominations.
With women bearing the brunt of economic challenges and job losses, Archbishop Guti said Today’s Woman helps them to get into the kingdom of God and teaches them to be women of God who do not live like those who are still in the world.
Highlighting the objectives of the initiative she said, “This is a unique thing in our country Zimbabwe where all the Christian umbrella bodies come together for one purpose to worship together as Christian women of Zimbabwe, to influence our nation in good morals that will also be spread to our children. As they grow up, they need to fear God.
Today’s Woman is meant to spiritually motivate women, deliver them from ignorance while also provoking them to good works.
“This initiative touches at how l am supposed to conduct myself as a woman of God. How to groom myself as a Christian woman of Zimbabwe who fears God,” she said.
This year’s conference ran under the theme ‘Dawn has come for Today’s Woman’ which was derived from Isaiah 60:1.
The conference, which ended yesterday, attracted some of the revered local and international female clergy.
Speakers included Pastors Santa du Plessis from South Africa, Fiona Arthurs, (USA) Petronella Muriuku- Musau (South Africa),Chichi Bismark, Apostle Mavis Gurupira, Bishops Marvellous Mhloyi and Stella Fundira, among others from the local churches.
