ASSOCIATION of Music and Arts Promoters Zimbabwe interim chairperson, Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, has strongly condemned the wayward behaviour of some rogue bouncers for causing chaos at entertainment joints and shows.
Chipaz urged citizens to report any form of violence perpetrated by bouncers.
Reacting to violence caused by some bouncers at trendy Harare nightspot, Pabloz, over the weekend, Chipaz said the police should come to their rescue, as the issue was now out of hand.
Bouncers caused pandemonium at the venue, and one of them is seen on a video clip brandishing a knife and attacking what looks like another bouncer.
It could not be ascertained whether or not the bouncer stabs the person.
“We condemn this behaviour whatever the case might be.
“It’s totally unacceptable.
“We are a law-abiding nation and this kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable in our society.
“If this is not addressed, we will lose lives,” he said.
He urged victims of bouncers to make police reports.
“We have held meetings with the police and as the norm police, want a report to be lodged with them before they take action.
“It’s unfortunate that most people do not make reports for reasons best known to themselves.
“I’m pleading with people to report such crimes because it’s against the law to be abusive just because you’re a bouncer,” he said.
