Among the performers are popular singers such as Alex Fairlie, David Bvumbe, Faith Ganyau, Rowland Amm and Lazarus Mudia, along with a number of newcomers to the Reps stage and to the entertainment scene in Harare.
Leading the show with a storyline about the music of the era is Marc Thomas, most recently seen as the dame in the 2011 pantomime, Robinson Crusoe.
“The show is a follow-up to last year’s Dream Lover and Seasons In The Sun from the year before, and is a trip down musical memory lane that will have broad appeal to audiences of all ages,” said Sue Bolt, who chairs the Reps production committee.
“Each year at this time we feature a show with golden oldies.
“They are always popular for their well-known music, the singers and dancers and for the opportunity it gives to audiences to chill out for a few hours with music they know or are happy to get to know.”
Shout! opens tomorrow, with a preview night today, at which pensioners will be admitted free and all others at half price. The production runs until Saturday March 3, with performances most nights at 7pm and special additional 2.30pm matinees on all three Saturdays of the run, as well as on Sunday February 26.
During the run there will be two gala performances – one for Arcadia Community Centre on Friday February 17 and one for the Soroptimists on Saturday February 25.
