A SELF-CONFESSED Mberengwa witch who failed to reverse a spell resulting in the death of another villager has since deserted her home for the bush fearing for her life.
Kiliana Ratidzo Tomu cast a spell on the now deceased Rosemary Chitogwa after discovering she had secretly breastfed her six-month-old granddaughter as part of her witchcraft practices.
Since the child was seriously ill, Tomu in her revenge mission then bewitched Chitogwa whose breast miraculously dried resulting in her death.
After Chitogwaa��s death, her family confronted Tomu and threatened to kill her.
a�?When Chitogwa died, her family was bitter and it is unfortunate that their case had once been tried before Chief Nyamhondo where Tomu made the confessions.
a�?She had promised to reverse her spell, but never did leading to Chitogwaa��s death.
a�?Tomu and her family were banned from attending the funeral and even after the burial, some family members went to her homestead and threatened to kill her,a�? said a village source.
Tomu, fearing for her life, deserted her homestead and is now living in the bush.
a�?She told her children that she cannot continue living there because she suspects Chitogwaa��s family will burn her hut during the dead of the night,a�? added the source.
Chief Nyamhondo confirmed receiving the report.
a�?I understand that woman is now staying in the bush, but I had advised her family to take her to Hebron church.
They offer accommodation to homeless people.
a�?She will then return to her home when the case is completed as the Chitogwa family will appear before me soon,a�? he said.
Tomu is the last woman standing after a war of supernatural powers.
The war started after the now deceased Chitogwa had secretly breastfed Tomua��s granddaughter resulting in the baby rejecting her mothera��s milk and vomiting every time her mother breastfed her.
Tomu then consulted traditional healers and as part of her revenge bewitched Chitogwa.
