ANGELS in biblical Noahas times forsook their own proper dwelling in Heaven and materialised in human bodies in order to have sex with women.
This scene aptly applies to an Anglican reverend with a church branch in Bulawayo who renounced his altar to have a feel of his nieceas a?centre bearinga?.
His lust allegedly got the better of him as he caressed and fingered the 18-year-old Upper Sixth Form niece without her consent.
It began when he asked to help with her with Divinity studies which she agreed to.
The man of the cloth is alleged to have succumbed to nature, as he started making love overtures to his unsuspecting niece-cum-student.
It is reported the reverend drew closer to her then shoved his hand inside her pants and fondled the a?centre bearinga?.
Out of shock the niece bolted out and narrated her ordeal to the familyas domestic worker Samukeliso Tshuma who locked the reverend inside the veranda area.
The reverend has since appeared before a Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya facing a charge of indecent assault as defined in Section 67 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
He was not asked to plead and was remanded to 8 September for trial.
Prosecutor Grace Zhou told the court that on 30 August around 9am, the reverend proceeded to his nieceas home in the same neighbourhood and asked her to prepare him tea.
a?After drinking the tea, he asked to assist her to study divinity and the two went to the dining room. In the midst of the lesson, he began to draw closer to his niece and advised her to relax.
a?He started caressing the complainantas thighs, went on to put his fingers inside her pants and fondled her vagina without her consent,a? said Zhou.
She further told the court that the terrified niece removed her uncleas hand, bolted out of the house sobbing and confided in Tshuma.
a?Tshuma went to the house, locked him on the veranda and instructed David Chidumba to report the matter to ZRP Queens Park leading to his arrest,a? she said. .
