TOP-FLIGHT league side Black Rhinos have called on all budding footballers for trials.
The club is looking to inject new blood into their squad by giving a chance to youngsters to show-case their talent on the biggest stage.
The trials will be conducted for four days from January 3 to 6 at the National Sports Stadium B Arena, and the age limit is restricted to 24 years.
Black Rhinos secretary general, Edward Mutukwa, said the club wants to inject new blood into the team instead of recycling old players.
“We want to give a chance to youngsters who haven’t been given a platform to showcase their talent,” he said.
“We believe that there is a lot of untapped talent that’s always overlooked. These boys deserve a chance and it’s going to be our new modus-operandi.
“We believe the youngsters have the zeal and work hard to succeed compared to the older guys who would have already made it in their careers. These old horses have nothing to prove, and in most cases, they end up causing trouble in camp.
“There is one thing for sure; the old horses bring stability in teams, but on the other end, they are quick to lead others astray if the team faces chal-lenges. In the just-ended campaign, we have seen it at many clubs.
“However, our major motive is to give the youngsters a chance. We will also feed our sister clubs like Commando Bullets with other players, so for us it’s a big initiative.”
“We are looking forward to seeing the youngsters grabbing the opportunity. The age limit also allows those who might want to join the national army a chance to do so.” Chauya Chipembere finished ninth with 46 points last season.
