Riddim culture has changed: Cymplex

AWARD-WINNING music producer, Cymplex, has urged artists to keep the riddim culture alive in order for the genre to thrive.

In an interview with H-Metro, Cymplex believes the riddim culture is still alive although it has changed a bit.

“The riddim culture is still alive though a few artists hesitate to be part of it as they want to avoid competition from others.

“Sometimes, I think they do not want to be compared with others so they just want to be doing their solo projects,” he said.

The youthful producer also hailed Zeb Tsikira for his contribution to the Zimdancehall genre.

“I wish Zeb Tsikira all the best on his newly-born record label, Mey Records.

“We have worked well with Zeb Tsikira as we produced Zeb Tsikira Vol 3 riddim.

“It has been quite an experience as he is good to work with.”

Cymplex has also released a new riddim, which features the late Souljah Love.

“Right now we have a new riddim called the medallion riddim which the late Souljah Love voiced.

“He did voice work on the riddim before he passed on but we had not released the riddim because we wanted it to be a masterpiece.”

Cymplex has released a number of hit riddims, which include the Mhemberero riddim, which saw a number of hip hop artists taking part in the project.
