BORN in a family of musicians, fate dictated that 23-year-old Agenda Jonathan Maphosa could not have been different.
The musician said he became passionate about music at a tender age and cultivated his desire until it matured, giving birth to a six-track gospel album.
“I grew up in a family that loved music, the main hobby at home was and still is singing so music became a part of me. My uncle established a musical group called Ibutho likaKristu imbube group and that is the group that cultivated my singing talent until I saw it fit to stand on my own and come up with my own album. I started working on my album in January this year,” he said.
Since music is in his blood Agenda told Sunday Life that he does not struggle with composing songs especially with the music genre he chose for his first album.
“When it comes to writing songs I usually do not struggle. Sometimes I prefer walking instead of boarding a taxi or bus because I think better when I am alone, undisturbed or in a quiet place,” said Aganda.
“My album title is Love Session and it has six tracks which are Wee zinsizwa, Ndiyabulela, Ukuphi Ngiz’tholele, Uzwa kanjani and God’s Love. The reason why I gave my first album that title is that I realised that all of my songs had a similar message which is “Love”. It is all about God’s love and the love that people have for each other, I intend to preach and teach through my songs,” he added.
