Man of the moment, Oriyano, who stole the spotlight at this year’s National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) with his electrifying performance, is already reaping the rewards. The rising star has secured a series of shows in Gwanda, Beitbridge, and Bulawayo, marking his first appearances in the Matabeleland region this year.

The multi-talented artiste, known for hits like Marema, Makarima Mupoto, and Ndakuda, will kick off his tour on Friday with a performance at Phoenix Tshisanyama in Gwanda. Local stars Zhezhingtonz and Kay_Kid Umfanomsotho will set the stage, while MC Freddy K, Rich Flavour, and MC Kay One will host the night

On Saturday, Oriyano will head to Beitbridge for a highly anticipated show at Pagomba Café, where he will share the stage with Winky D, Bhadilah, MC Edutainer, MC Kay One, DJ Vic Gee, and DJ Keitho.

Event organiser DJ Keitho said this year, as promoters, they are focusing on listening to their audience and delivering what fans want.
“Pairing Winky D with Oriyano, who has recently taken the music scene by storm, is a great combination. The blend of Winky D’s experience and Oriyano’s fresh energy will create an electrifying atmosphere that will leave fans in awe,” said DJ Keitho.

He also highlighted the show’s potential to boost local tourism in Matabeleland South.
“The main objective of bringing the two artistes to Gwanda is to drive economic growth and exposure for our beautiful town. We expect to attract visitors from out of town, which will boost local businesses and create a positive economic impact. More importantly, it gives Gwanda residents a chance to experience live performances by top artists without having to travel to other cities,” he said.

On April 26, Oriyano is billed to perform in Bulawayo where he has been added onto the Bulawayo Shutdown line-up. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
