Rivonia trial makes return

in the coming stage play Rivonia Trial
Maake ka Ncube, who stars in Scandal on e.tv, will portray the world icon Nelson Mandela.
Sebohodi, the man you love to hate in Generations, will play Raymond Mhlaba and Albert Luthuli.
Both actors will bring excitement and experience on April 5 when the show opens at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria.
Rivonia Trial returns to the theatre for the second time after a successful run last year.
Other stars of the show are Lionel Newton, David Clatworthy, Emmanuel Castis, Macks Papo, Renos Nicos Spanoudes, Peter Terry, Boitumelo Shisana and Harriet Manamela.
This exciting play will take you down memory lane and remind you of what happened 48 years ago. Former Generations star Xolile Tshabalala will play Winnie Mandela, which is one of the crucial roles in the story.
Rivonia Trial play follows the trial through the eyes of witnesses, defence lawyers and arrested MK cadres. Through their testimony, theatre viewers are taken to the back rooms of Liliesleaff farm. The farm was a safe house for the trialists and a place where the dreaded document (by the state) of Operation Mayibuye was discussed.
The trial which took place in Pretoria was a showpiece for the apartheid regime. – Sowetan.
