A-38-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo was robbed of a car and cash by two unidentified men who are at large.
She was robbed upon arrival at her home in Tshabalala suburb and the suspects sped off towards Rangemore suburb.

The robbers took her white Toyota IST registration number AEQ 7049, $15 bond, US$25, R3 000, identity cards, driver’s licence, bank cards and a Samsung smartphone and these have not been recovered.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the case of robbery.

He said investigations were underway.

“A woman from Tshabalala suburb was robbed of a car and cash by two unidentified men. She arrived home and parked her vehicle, leaving the car keys on ignition. She disembarked from the vehicle, leaving the car engine running while she started offloading her groceries from the car to her house.

“While inside the house she heard the car doors close and as when she rushed outside to check, she saw two men inside the car, one on the driver’s seat and the other on the passenger’s seat. As they started the car, the woman grabbed the one on the front seat and tried to wrestle him but he pushed her off and drove away,” said Insp Ncube.

Police has warned the public to take heed of police campaigns and not take their warnings for granted.

Insp Ncube advised motorists to never leave their car keys on ignition saying such actions made them targets of robbery and gave robbers easy access to their vehicles.

“Motorists must take note of our continued warnings because some of these cases of robbery are a result of careless behaviour. People should guard their properties jealously and not give robbers easy access to their property,” he said.
