Robbers steal over US$8 700 from shop

THREE robbers raided a shop in Chitungwiza before stealing more than US$8 700 which was stashed in two till drawers.

The robbers attacked the workers at the shop before firing a shot in the air.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said investigations were in progress.

“Police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of robbery which occurred at a grocery shop at Tilcor Industry, Chitungwiza on October 26, 2024 at around 1.30 pm,” he said

“Three unknown suspects who were armed with an unidentified pistol stole US$8 705 cash from two till drawers in the shop after firing one shot into the roof and ordering shop workers and customers to lie down.

“The suspects drove away in a Honda Fit vehicle. Anyone with information should report at any nearest police station.”
