A suspected robber was remanded in custody to tomorrow after appearing in court charged with robbery.
Godspower Shave (34) and two accomplices hired a taxi to Mabvuku at night before stripping the driver naked, tying his hands and legs, and dumping him in a bushy area.
Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje said Shave and two others still at large approached the taxi driver whose vehicle was parked at corner Robert Mugabe Avenue and Julius Nyerere Way.
They indicated that they wanted to be taken to Mabvuku, and when they got to Chizhanje, the three grabbed the driver by the neck threatening to stab him with an Okapi knife.
They stripped him naked, tied his hands to his legs with shoelaces and dumped him at a bushy area in Mabvuku before driving off in his vehicle.
A report was made at Mabvuku Police Station.
Detectives on patrol intercepted Shave driving the stolen vehicle at Highglen shops and arrested him, while his two accomplices escaped during a chase.
They are still being pursued by the police.
