Robinson, Kendall-ball for Bowls champs

LAST year’s winners of the Zimbabwe Nationals tournament Derek Robinson and Sylvia Kendall-ball will represent the country at the World Singles Champion of Champions bowls tournament in New Zealand later this year.
The tournament, which is one of the biggest events on the world bowls calendar, is set for November at Christchurch, New Zealand.
Both bowlers have a virtuous history of playing good bowls and their early preparations for the competition should put them in good stead of winning the World Singles Champion of Champions and make the nation proud.

Robinson said he his playing in many games as possible to fine-tune himself for this prestigious event.
Robinson, who plays for Highlands Sports Club, is the current Zimbabwe Nationals champion in the men’s section while Kendall-ball is the champion in the women’s category.

“I am playing a lot of bowls every weekend. I make sure I practice or take part in the local competitions.
“I have been doing well in most of the social competitions and local competitions, and my performance has been impressive.

“Robbie Robison from Highlands Sports Club, who has a good reputation of being a good coach, has been helping me and he will continue to be helpful during my preparations so I’m sure that come November, I will be ready for the tournament,” Robinson said.
