Roderick Mutuma’s double delight

Mutuma opened the scoring in a winning cause for Dynamos to take his tally to 14 league goals this season.
Mutuma arrived at Dynamos during the off-season as an unknown quantity and has acquitted himself well, scoring crucial goals for the team.
The gangly Mutuma could not hide his joy yesterday and said it was a dream come true for him to win the prestigious award in his maiden season in the Premiership.
“I’m happy to win both the league and the Golden Boot award, you know it’s my first season playing in the top-flight league.
“I set myself a target at the beginning of the season and I am happy to have achieved my goal. Dynamos is a big team and it is an honour playing for them,” said Mutuma.
He attributed his success to team work, and said he was now looking forward to more glory come next season.
“Team work was crucial in our triumph and l want to keep working hard to surpass my mark next season.
“l’m committed to the team and looking forward to more good things,” he said.
Mutuma failed to reach last year’s mark of 22 goals by Norman Maroto but was still good enough to win the league after seeing off the challenge of CAPS United’s Evans Gwekwerere who had 10 goals to his credit.
FC Platinum’s Charles Sibanda also finished on 10 goals after scoring for the Moneybags against Shooting Stars at Gwanzura.
Simba Sithole, who is now on the books of South African Premiership giants Mamelodi Sundowns, also finished on 10 goals even though he played only half of the season.
