Rodriguez unfazed

MADRID. — New Real Madrid signing James Rodriguez claimed it was a “dream” to sign for the Spanish soccer giants. The Colombian World Cup star completed a reported £63million move from Monaco on Tuesday, signing a six-year deal with Carlo Ancelotti’s men. It makes him the fourth most expensive player of all time, tailing only Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo — both his new team-mates at Real — and Barcelona’s Luis Suarez on the list of football’s most expensive transfers.

But the Colombian attacking midfielder isn’t bothered by his big price tag. “The numbers mean nothing to me,” he said. “I just want to help make history and bring joy to the Madrid fans.”— The Mirror.
