GOSPEL diva, Roe Makawa, reckons it is never too late for non-believers to seek God and be saved.
The multi-lingual diva said it was high time people had faith in God to overcome their challenges.
The Gwanda-bred princess of praise and worship opened up on the sidelines of her seventh album launch last weekend at Chinhoyi Mall, which almost turned into a church service.
An ordained pastor in her own right, the songbird unveiled her latest album titled Uyeza, a gentle reminder about Jesus Christ’s second coming.
The album carries eight spiritually-uplifting songs, which appeal across all age groups – Seasons, Zoomer featuring Shantel Sithole, Endumisweni featuring Martha Longwe, Ndisiye, a collaboration with Admire Nago and Abokoe Makawa, as well as Munoshamisa, featuring Rumbie Chaleka-Gatawa.
Siyohlala Sijabula, Ngobambelela Kuwe and the title track Uyeza complete the album’s playlist.
In an interview with H-Metro, Makawa said she was a living testimony and was ready to save lost souls and help them come back to Christ.
“We are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ’s second coming, which some of you take lightly.
“Whether we like it or not, Jesus Christ is coming and what is important now is for us to be found prepared for Judgment Day.
“However, it’s never too late for both believers and non-believers to repent and be saved by the Lord God,” she said.
Makawa, who worked on her latest album during lockdown, said she was happy to have finally launched it.
“This album is a bit special to me considering the challenges that I faced while putting the whole project together.
“I never thought that one day I would be able to complete it on time but God was with me.
“As a mother, preacher and farmer, it was taxing putting together this project,” she said.
Asked how she balances her demanding schedules, she said:
“Proper planning has always worked in my favour. I make sure that I dedicate my time to each and every task ahead.
“I plan things because without planning, we can’t do anything.”
Makawa, who grabbed headlines after she was healed from fibroids in 2015, said she was determined to serve.
“I have given my life to Christ. I once became hopeless after suffering from fibroids, which disappeared miraculously.
“From there, I have learnt to trust the Lord.
“I had to fast and pray hard to overcome this problem, which I thought would end my life,” she said.
Besides Uyeza, she boasts of six other albums namely Bayethe, released in 2016, Lerato (2017), Sebawothe (2018), Upelile (2019), Ngiyabonga 2020 and the 2021 project Uyezwa.
Besides music, she is also a farmer, fashion designer and pastor.
She is also a marriage counsellor, motivational speaker and team builder.
In her spare time, she likes composing new songs as well as writing.
