A DISPUTE between a mother and her daughter over the ownership of a house has spilled into court.

Pauline Nzonzo and her mother Christine Murenje are fighting over the ownership of a house in Dzivaresekwa built by the late Evangelist Murenje.

Murenje was Christine’s mother and Pauline’s grandmother.

Pauline accuses Christine of verbal and physical abuse, and launched a failed bid for a protection order. She claimed her late grandmother left her in charge of the property.

“She came all the way from Chitungwiza to insult and assault me saying I should vacate the house.

“She threatened to send boys who smoke drugs to beat me up,” Pauline claimed.

In response, Christine said she had never insulted nor assaulted her daughter.

“She applied for a protection order to avoid a meeting happening tomorrow (today) about the house.

“She is staying in the main house while I stay in the cottage and it’s not fair,” said Christine.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingure dismissed the protection order application.
