BULAWAYO’s Royal Luxury Events has reached a defining moment in its business journey, marking a historic milestone after being selected as the events organiser for this year’s 46th Independence Day celebrations in Maphisa, Matobo District.
For a company that has steadily built its name on ambition and detail, the appointment represents both recognition and reward.

Tasked with hosting more than 30 000 members of the public alongside approximately 5 000 VIPs and VVIPs this month, and delivering the entire set up within just five days, the assignment stands as a remarkable achievement in scale and precision.
It is the kind of challenge that tests capacity, endurance and professionalism — and one Royal Luxury Events has embraced with confidence.

The company has expressed excitement at having fulfilled its promise of quality, capacity and execution, delivering a venue that prioritises comfort and safety for an occasion of national significance.
For Royal Luxury Events, the celebrations are not just another job, but a showcase of what local enterprise can achieve when vision meets discipline.
The business is run by husband and wife duo, Mr Traggy Maphosa and Jannet Malata Maphosa, a partnership bound by a shared belief in excellence.
Together, they pride themselves on delivering nothing short of the best.

For the Maphisa celebrations, they have erected specially designed VIP tents complete with air conditioning and polished floors, alongside spacious public tents that offer comfort and calm for thousands in attendance.
“We look forward to host 600 ministers, Government officials, 600 war veterans, ambassadors, war veterans, amongst other guests and members of the public,” said Mrs Maphosa.
Her words carry the confidence of experience. With more than a decade in the events industry, Royal Luxury Events has steadily carved its place, handling high profile Government functions, conferences, congresses and university graduation ceremonies across the country.
“We have been in the industry for more than 10 years, and have we done notable events for Government officials, conferences, congresses and university graduations,” she said.
The journey, she admitted, was far from smooth at the beginning. Entering a space long dominated by a single, well established company required resilience and bold thinking.
“When we started, the journey was not easy as we had to compete with a certain company that had been existing for over 60 years unchallenged hence a lot had to be done to break that monopoly as we wanted to bring value to our clients.”
Over time, that persistence paid off. Mrs Maphosa said the company built its reputation through dependable after service, a commitment that has ensured client loyalty throughout their growth.
However, it is the transformation of the Maphisa grounds that perhaps best captures the scale of what the company has delivered.
“Where there was once untamed ground, thick grass swaying in the wind and scattered trees, now stands a masterpiece of precision, scale, and national purpose as the transformation is nothing short of extraordinary,” she said.
Gigantic tents now stretch across the landscape, each structure meticulously positioned to create a commanding presence that announces readiness for a historic gathering. What was once uneven terrain has been carefully reshaped, levelled and engineered into a venue fit to host a nation.
“The once uneven terrain has been reshaped, levelled, and engineered into a venue worthy of hosting a nation. Walkways now cut through the grounds with deliberate order.
The main arena, once just open land, has evolved into the focal point of national pride ready to welcome dignitaries, citizens, and guests from across the country,” said Mrs Maphosa.
As final touches were applied, the space began to hum with anticipation, every detail — from seating layouts to structural finishes — echoing organisation and excellence.
“The atmosphere carries a sense of anticipation every detail, from seating arrangements to structural finishes, reflects discipline and excellence.”
Behind the scenes, the transformation came at the cost of long hours and unwavering commitment.
The couple revealed that their team worked tirelessly, present day and night, to bring the breathtaking vision to life on time.
Mrs Maphosa reserved special praise for her staff, applauding their determination and willingness to go beyond set targets, turning pressure into pride.
As the nation gathers in Maphisa to mark 46 years of independence, Royal Luxury Events will be standing quietly at the centre of the spectacle — its work speaking through structure, order and beauty, and its journey reflecting what dedication and belief can achieve.
