THE National Rugby League which was supposed to resume last Saturday has been tentatively postponed to July 26 to accommodate preparations for the crucial qualifiers for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, NRL chairman, Noddy Kanyangarara has revealed. Kanyangarara said most of the big clubs were going to discharge their key players for national duty, so the super league matches would be postponed to accommodate the crucial qualifiers.
“I am saying July 26 tentatively, but it will be most likely until after August 2 when the Sables play against Russia.
“This is a historic moment that we should embrace as a nation and as NRL we decided to postpone all super league matches so that some teams will not be disadvantaged especially teams like Harare Sports Club with the bulk of its payers in the national team,” said Kanyangarara.
The Mutare franchise Mutare Sports Club was supposed to take on Bulawayo side, Old Miltonians at Hartsfield last week when the NRL was supposed to resume.
When the super league resumes it will be entering the second round.
