The runaway killer couple, who skipped the border in 2023 after allegedly murdering a four-year-old niece, will be in Zimbabwe on tomorrow two years after the crime was committed.
John Zvivi and Alister Sibanda will be extradited after their papers were signed recently.
A lawyer and businessman, Moreboys Munetsi, who also facilitated their arrest, confirmed the development.
“John and Lister will be in Zimbabwe on Wednesday morning.
“Both the accused, husband and wife, are facing murder charges in Zimbabwe.
“We effected their arrest two years ago with Thomas Ndundu with the support of citizens.
“Tomorrow the Zim consulate in Johannesburg will process their travel documents and they will be handed over to Interpol and ZRP at Beitbridge border Post.”
The couple has been on the run for allegedly killing the daughter of Lister’s sister.
They were arrested in Bram Fischerbille, Johannesburg, with the assistance of Munetsi and Thomas Nhundu before they were taken to court where they have been applying against extradition.
The development comes after South Africa’s Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Mmamoloko Kubayi signed their extradition papers two weeks ago.
Following their arrest, they engaged a lawyer to avoid extradition to Zimbabwe.
Last year, a magistrate in SA considered that the court had found out that the respondents, John and Lister, were liable to be surrendered to the foreign state concerned, in this case Zimbabwe.
