POPULAR music producer and artiste, Tawanda ‘Dr Tawanda’ Benson is desperate for assistance following an accident on March 6.

The versatile artist said he broke his hand, ribs, and sustained head injuries.

He needs financial assistance, and some sections of the social media have been facilitating fundraising to assist the artist.

Dr Tawanda has been posting some videos on his Facebook page. He needs to travel to South Africa for further medical attention.

In an interview, Dr Tawanda said:

“The accident occurred on March 6, in Mutare and I sustained serious injuries on my ribs, my hand, and the head.

“The hand broke and I need surgical treatment.

“So, it’s true that I am looking for help for me to go to South Africa for treatment.

“If I get around US$500 to 1000, that will help me treat the injury.”

He said, the accident occurred while he was on his way from visiting his children at school.

“It happened in Mutare when I was coming from seeing my children at school. I was in the company of my relatives, and we all survived but with serious injuries.”

He fears that his career is now at crossroads as there are high chances he will not return to his previous self.

Having made a living out of performing, the injuries have left him without any source of income and this has forced him to beg for assistance.

“But now I am down, remember, being an artist you have to be visible throughout.

“I am not able to work properly due to the injuries. I am bedridden and it’s hard for me to do my usual duties.”
