AFRICA Mineral Ventures Football Club is set to make its debut in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One following its strategic acquisition of Rusununguko High School franchise.
The new Eastern Region Division One side which will be based in Rusape has set it targets of ensuring the growth of football in Manicaland.
Former Ngezi Platinum Stars chief executive officer, Nyasha Kadenge, will oversee the day to day running of the club following her appointment as the club’s general manager.
Kadenge confirmed AMV FC will be making its debut in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One in the upcoming season.
“The acquisition of the Rusununguko High franchise has enabled AMV FC to secure its place in Eastern Region Division One while aligning with its broader vision of establishing a professionally governed, competitively structured, and sustainably managed football institution,” said Kadenge.
She added that AVM FC is committed to the development of football in Manicaland Province.
“This development marks a significant milestone in the club’s structured growth and its long-term commitment to football development in Rusape and the wider Manicaland province.
“The club remains guided by its foundational belief that football serves as a powerful catalyst for personal growth, social cohesion, and economic opportunity,” said Kadenge.
Kadenge said that AVM FC will seek to use its professional status for football development in the Manicaland Province.
“With its admission into Eastern Region Division One, AMV FC intends to compete with professionalism, discipline, and integrity while maintaining its focus on structured youth development, high-performance football systems, and holistic player development, including education, discipline, and life skills training,” said Kadenge.
As part of the acquisition, AVM FC has integrated the Rusununguko Academy into its plans.
“By integrating the Rusununguko Academy into our structure, we are strengthening our commitment to developing local talent from grassroots level through to elite competition.
“Our objective is to build a competitive, professionally run football club that represents Rusape with distinction while delivering tangible value to players, supporters, sponsors, and the broader community,” said Kadenge.
