Rushika appeals to well-wishers for assistance

requires about US$6 000 to foot all the expenses related to the trip.

The urgency of the matter is underpinned by the fact that the Rushikas are supposed to leave around July 5 and return around July 20 with Kays spending some of the time in hospital while his wife Francesca will need to visit him daily. The former bodybuilding association president who has been into the sport since 1970 said they have managed to raise US$1 000 out of the required US$6 000 to foot all the expenses related to the trip.

“I have got US$1 000 raised by my family. We are appealing to well-wishers out there if they can help us. So far we are still waiting, we do not know if we are going to get the help but I am just hoping that some of people I have worked with will assist.

“At the moment I am not working, I am just helping here and there, even the association doesn’t have money they are also suffering,” said Rushika.

NFZBBF president, Otis Goredema has indicated that although the bodybuilding mother body is broke they are going to try their best to assist Rushika as he is a father figure to them and has contributed a lot to the sport over the years.

The family has already made an appointment for the surgery to be performed early next month.

Currently Rushika appears to be in high spirits and is eating normally but has been advised by doctors to reduce his work load at the gym.
