Of late, the United States has faced a lot of resistance from the progressive world due to its bully tactics, bad politics, sponsoring foreign wars, dictatorial tendencies, regime change antics and big brother mentality.
According to a recent research, more and more Americans have become aware and inherently worried that their country is losing grip by each second that passes. The trend is really worrying them.
From little Zimbabwe to Russia, the US has abused its mighty and unilaterally imposed sanctions in order to effect regime change but without success.
The sanctions have not worked much in terms of regime change but have destroyed economic and made ordinary innocent citizens to suffer in the name of democracy, good governance and accountability.
Suffice it to say, the world now knows that these are mere ideologies used as a smokescreen by the US to hide its grand idea to gain access to natural resources of those targeted countries.
The world now knows that the whole talk by US of democracy, good governance and accountability are cheap talk. The target is gain access to cheap natural resources. Now all couantries in the know, are now resisting US manoeuvres and making sure that it fails to gain access to the resources, hence to loss of Washington’s grip.
Pockets of resistance to US hegemony are increasing by each and the biggest resistance is the strength the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) grouping which is gathering great momentum.
That the BRICS has of late, received a many applications from progressive thinking countries to join it and that the BRICS are working on a currency that will counter US dollar, measure for measure is telling on how the other countries in the world are fighting to breaking away from US grip.
The US administration under Joe Biden are having sleepless nights, trying to counter the ever increasing influence of Russia and China in Africa and its own dwindling influence.
Russia, China and other BRICS members have proved to be fair business players, seeking win–win deals and not engaging in regime change the way the US does.
What has worsened the US’ case is that Biden does not seem himself to understand that world politics have evolved.
The politics of bullying are over. The new crop of African leaders and leaders from the developing world is very intelligent and can easily read between the lines.
Unless the US changes it ways it will continue losing grip on the world.
The issue of the alternative BRICS currency is a huge turning point.
And, according to the Pew Research Center, Americans travel a lot throughout the world and they now experience the feeling that their influence is getting weaker.
The American strong influence should no longer be taken for granted as fact, new alternatives have emerged. Russia and China are real threats and have done well in perception management on the world other than the US.
That 32 percent of the Americans interviewed in the survey, feel their country is no longer as influential as it used to be. This is telling that the US itself has been challenged in many fora over its human rights record, the systematic murder of black Americans, the funding of wars that have killed many innocent men, women and children and the morality in terms of gay rights.
Trying to force gay rights on other countries has dented US influence as many detest it.
Its uptake on gay rights has been very minimal, meaning US has failed to force it on many countries, despite using its financial and political muscle to push it down the throats of poor nations. — BelgianThinkTank.com
