SCOTTLAND are turning on the power in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League as the marathon enters the business end and have put together an impressive seven-game winning streak.

Their offensive prowess is on full display as they have scored 16 goals in their last seven league matches. Their recent dominance has been highlighted by their crushing victories over FC Platinum and Herentals, whom they defeated 5-2 and 3-1.

The margin of defeat was a first for both clubs this season and a personal career first for FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza.

Ndiraya maintains his squad is solely focused on internal objectives, not the performance of the league leaders.

“If we lose our focus and start focusing on them, then we will lose the plot,” said Ndiraya.

“What we want is to keep getting points, keep notching points on the board. We are good as we are, it’s actually us putting pressure on Simba.”

Ndiraya revealed a precise strategic framework behind the team’s success — a mandate to secure a minimum of 12 points from every five-game segment of the season.

This methodical approach has yielded exceptional results, with the team consistently exceeding its targets.

“As a team, the technical staff and the players, we have given ourselves a target of collecting a minimum of 12 points from every five games we play,” Ndiraya said.

“So far, we’ve done really well.

“In fact, we’ve exceeded our own expectations and collected more points than we initially envisaged.”

He attributed the sustained success to a unified effort throughout the entire organisation,

“The entire team, players and technical staff, are united in working towards these goals, and the performance has been really positive.”

Former Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona scored his first goal in the domestic Premiership when he thrust the Scotts into the lead from a dead ball, struck from distance, at Rufaro on Saturday.

Tymon Machope, who is now firmly in the race for the Golden Boot after hitting a purple patch in the past few games, was also on target.

Terrence Dzvukamanja also scored as the Scotts took a 3-0 lead against one of the in-form clubs in the league which has one of the best defensive units.

The Scotts next game is against Dynamos at Rufaro next weekend and should be a blockbuster of a showdown.
