SOUTH African Amapiano sensation Scotts Maphuma is no longer just visiting — he’s taking over! The young DJ and producer lit up the stage at the Bulawayo Piano Festival this past weekend, proving he’s as comfortable in Zimbabwe as he is back home.
Held at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre, the show saw Maphuma go from DJ to crowd commander, rocking the decks, dancing atop VVIP couches, and even snapping pics of his fans mid-set.
Unlike fellow performers Uncool MC and Ricky Lenyora, who seemed to be testing unfamiliar waters, Maphuma owned the stage like a local. His connection with the crowd was electric — no hesitation, no nerves, just pure vibes.
This wasn’t just a performance. It was a party — his party.
From dropping bangers to dancing with Mzoe7, Maphuma blurred the line between performer and fan. “He was vibing with everyone, taking pictures, even dancing with us. It felt like he belonged here,” gushed one excited fan.
And it’s not just Bulawayo feeling the love. With several shows already under his belt in Harare and previous Bulawayo gigs, Scotts Maphuma’s transformation from tentative guest to confident crowd-favorite has been nothing short of impressive.
Zimbabwe isn’t just another stop on the tour. For Maphuma, it’s a vibe, a movement — a second home.
Watch this space — Scotts Maphuma isn’t done yet!
