Surprisingly, two-time nominee DJ Euphonik said he was “not moved” by the nod (he is nominated in the Best Kwaito or House Music DJ and the Best Southern African DJ categories).
Euphonik, real name Themba Nkosi, said: “I think all awards shows are important as long as they are done with a pure heart and with the aim of improving the overall scene they are awarding.”
While Euphonik says he was not moved, it is a little different for Zimbabweans DJs who were left out from the awards and yet they were some of the best turbtablists in Africa.
Some of the top club DJs include Otis “Da Flow” Fraser, Kimble Rogers, Smoove, Robbie Tee, Dean, P Stylez, T Bass, Dee Nosh, L Roy, Kudzi Marudza, Delani Makhalima and others.
Tickets range from R100 to R200 for the VIP seats. Six hundred tickets are being sold — with 400 being reserved for invited guests and the media. — sowetan.
